Enchanté provides a platform for advertisers to advertise on blogs. A while ago we received a remark from fishtank.be that several advertisers are wondering if ‘Blogs can be considered a trusted source?’. Can you consider a personal blog as a trusted source? The answer is simple: No.But an important remark needs to be made. Regular visitors of blogs experience blogs and their content as trusted sources, this could explain why the campaigns we have been running on blogs in our network get good results.
Ads that are shown on blogs are intrusive, but are not experienced as thus, due to the relationship between the blogger and the visitor. It is essential when creating a portfolio of blogs and making them available to advertisers that the final decision to show an ad is on the bloggers’ side. If a blogger does not want to show an ad, you don’t.Lets say, hypothetically, an ad that the blogger does not want to show, would be shown, a bad campaign result could be expected. Why? It would be an ad that the blogger does not like and probably a large part of his visitors wouldn’t either. The platform would lose one of its main advantages, the trust-relation between the blogger and his audience.
