It’s o so quiet in Ghent. But nevertheless we would like to announce two new Enchanté Heroes.
Onnozelheid (Dutch word for ‘Silliness’), a humorous blog on everyday life.
Brutin, subtitled: ‘When It Comes To Elements, Hydrogen Is Titz’.
Two great blogs! Go check them out!
Today the Tour is arriving in our hometown. We are surrounded by bicycle craziness! We’ve all put on our yellow jerseys and are sprinting through the day!
Tour or no tour, we have some TopBlog campaigns to offer!
Recticel is advertising on asfaltkonijn, blogologie, internation, lowagie and lvb.
Lano is advertising on appelogen, beinteractive, bnox, internation and lvb.
And Unilin is advertising on appelogen, beinteractive, blogologie, ondernemeringent and smetty.
We have been streaming KCRW Music for two days now. Excellent office radio! You can find in the iTunes default eclectic radio stations.
May I introduce some more Heroes on this rainy 4th of July here in Ghent? … Well I will do it anyway.
Let’s start with aandekook.be, another Dutch blog writing on nothing but food. Mmm. I like food! Cheesecake recipes, baking your own bread, you name it, you find it.
Next we have Titeca’s Webpalet. Karel is an IT consultant at the University of Leuven, writing on his personal life, seems to love google, hates topposting and will be daddy soon!
Check them out!

Yesterday, on a lazy Sunday stroll, I bought the amazing "Il Cucchiaio d’Argento" in the infamous Sterling Bookshop in Brussels (sterling as in pound sterling; it is the only bookshop I know that actually sells at the price you see printed on the cover – which turns out to be cheap).
"The Silver Spoon" is the ultimate Italian cookbook, first published in 1950. It contains over 2.000 recipes, not too many photos and is very clear on all the basic stuff (sauces, stocks, …). The english translation is available from Phaidon.
It is very extensive and contains recipes for a very wide range of ingredients (even 9 recipes for cervella ~ brains). You can browse by vegetable, fish and meat variety, and find individual recipes that you can put together in a menu.
It leaves a lot of room for your own imagination, as it only presents independent recipes for a basic ingredient, and only sometimes suggests what could go together with what.
Each page contains 2 to 3 recipes, with a separate list of ingredients and a very clear description of what you have to do. Not too strict, but with more than enough information. A nice detail is that the english translation also contains the Italian names of the recipes.
Yesterday, I tried the pork with oranges. Today the Costolette alla Villeroy and the Zucchine Capricciose. I love it.
One day (only one), I will make some stuff for my dear colleagues…
Tim

The second blog we would like to introduce is kind of special. It is the first blog out of France, so polite as we are, we say: Enchanté!. Presse-Citron joins Enchanté! Hopefully more French blogs will follow soon!
