Help Pakistan

The boys & girls who took part in this years The Farm asked us for some support in an extra effort to draw some attention on what’s going on in Pakistan. They felt the media had not given enough attention to the floods, or at least the magnitude of its impact.

For that reason they developed a nifty website which simulates what would happen with Belgium if the same events took place over here. Do the test, fill in your area code and see if you survive.

In order to spread the word we have sent out an outreach to our Enchanté Heroes and hope that others will also pick up the cause and share this message through facebook, twitter, … and their blogs. For that reason we are also offering a banner for some extra visibility. Feel free to use the following banner on your blog(s) or if you’re an Enchanté Hero just drop us a line and we will place it for you. Thanks.

A social media job campaign

A couple of days ago Enchanté Hero Sara contacted us with an unusual request. Seems she had worked out a social media campaign to promote her job hunt and wondered if we could help her with the outreach for visibility. In order to do so we decided we would pitch in and offer a banner which the other Enchanté Heroes can place at their own will.

Sara zoekt werk” is the center of it all. Its where all her implemented social media channels come together. Amongst other things it will feature updates that appear on the Facebook fanpage, the Twitter account, photos posted in the Flickr stream and off course her resume.

Help her out. Send her interesting job openings, become a fan on Facebook or contact her with a job offer!

One off the things you can also do to get her noticed is embed the banner below on your blog/website. You can find the code overhere.

Shrimp cook-off

A while back we were asked by RCA to help them promote the Crangon Crangon (commonly known as the brown or sand shrimp). Besides their fresh website and blog the Dutch fishery agency wanted to highlight these shrimps of the North Sea by reaching out to the blogosphere.

In order to do so, a competition was devised with a simple scope. Throughout a 4 week period bloggers were invited to make and share an original yet tasty dish incorporating shrimps. The best recipes, judged by chef Felix Alen, were eligible for a spot in the grand finale where they will compete for a great weekend at the Waddenzee with friends or family.

Recipes in of all colours and flavours reached us. No ordinary tomates crevettes, but often creative and refreshing creations, proving once again your average blogger knows how to think out of his/her lunchbox.

Curious to see who will be crowned the queen or king of shrimps at the final cook-off which will be held on thursday the 17th of december at Kookeiland in Deurne. We wish the final contestants (Ntone, SasvanGent, Minorissues, Hungryfeelings, Coolinary & Keukenweetjes) the best of luck.

Enchanté Hero On Point Started a Party at the End of the World

For a while now J&B has been hosting parties across the globe under the “start a party“-flag. This time they would be flying out the lucky few to Ushuaia in Argentina. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the coordinates of this spot, its the most southern region in the world.

People from across the world were invited or had won a spot for this party extravaganza. In a five day period, they were flown to Buenos Aires, headed down to Ushuaia for a quick visit and party and did some sightseeing.

Together with the people over at NOYZ (Isobar), we thought out a small-scale campaign in the Belgian blogosphere for their client J&B (Diageo). Blogger/photographer/reporter and Echanté hero Alex Deforce was invited to join in on the fun and a similar concept of what we did for Club Med was developed…

Alex would send us images throughout his journey which we’d give a spot in banners carefully positioned across the Enchanté network. This J&B branded banner randomly selected 3 images and once clicked upon, traffic got diverted to Alex’ latest blogpost, giving readers the inside story on his experiences or latest photo report.

Although finding a cellphone signal or getting online was not the easiest of jobs at the end of the world, his photos, blogposts, facebook updates and tweets got through to Belgium and delivered a significant amount of feedback. Blogposts were read, comments were made across different platforms, tweets got retweeted and many ‘likes’ followed. A nice project illustrating how brands and companies can get in touch with people, using the right tone of voice, through social media.

Nescafé

The great people from Emakina asked us to seed some Nescafé samples and to announce their Design your Cup campaign to a selection of bloggers.

And the winner is …

Apparently we won an award for the campaign we did for ClubMed together with Rollingtalks. Sweet.

Freecording (continued)

So how about the freecording campaign we launched a couple of months ago together with the great people from Canon? Well … some of the participating bloggers are getting really good at it. Check this movie f.e. from emich. An introduction to Bangkok trafic:

Hello, Tuk Tuk ! from Michaël Uyttersprot on Vimeo.

Or what about lvb’s fast motion beach life.

Knokke Beach in Fast Motion (2) from Luc Van Braekel on Vimeo.

I personally like Zog’s creepy look at the Ghent railway station a lot.

Sfeerbeeld Sint-Pietersstation, Gent from mvuijlst on Vimeo.

Serge and Co seemed to have enjoyed themselves a lot on the beach.

Strobist Meeting at The Beach from Serge Van Cauwenbergh on Vimeo.

Hell, why don’t you check them all … .

Canon Bloggers Hands-On

We organized a small event together with the people from Canon. A dozen Belgian Bloggers were invited to be the first to get some hands-on experience with a (beta sample) Canon 5D Mark II.
To be honest, I don’t know much about photography, so if you wanna read more on the hands-on experience be sure to check the blogs of “the chosen ones” :D .

I think this was a great experience for all people involved. Canon, the bloggers and us. We never received that amount of feedback on a single campaign.
A nice location combined with some of the sexiest hardware, made this a great event for people who like photography. Being able to test a certain lens or to get a hands-on experience with a camera seems to be something photography lovers get a kick out :D . Add some professional models and food and drinks and you have the ideal atmosphere where photobloggers can share their ideas, get to know one another and learn from one another.
If you want to get an idea what the evening looked like be sure to browse the ‘canon_bloggers_handson’ tag on flickr.
Great evening.

Indevuilbak

What a great campaign Saatchi is running against litter. You can check all crazy and fun campaign material on the Indevuilbak site. An extreme banner was used to promote the campaign on our blog netwerk. The banner was extremely intrusive, ignoring most of the IAB guidelines but it did exactly what it was supposed to do, annoy people, just as litter does. Showing a piece of chewing gum on a blog and make it stick to the visitor’s mouse pointer, is just hilarious. Loved it.
The banner was shown during three days using CAP1 on five influential blogs (pietel, lvb, monuments, hungryfeelings and houbi)

Canon Freecording

We recently launched a new campaign on the Enchanté Network together with the great people from Canon. Five of the most influential bloggers received a Canon HF10 HD camcorder that they can use for a couple of months to produce content for their blog. This blog campaign is part of the Canon Freecording campaign that stresses that using a camcorder can be just plain fun. Watch out for some sweet video content created by your favorite Enchanté Heroes.

Feel free to read more on this campaign at some of the participating blogs.

To be continued … .
